Improvement for the enjoyment and benefit of the track and county

Raising Funds × CONTRIBUTING × IMPROVING

History

Laguna Seca, storied ground, transitioned from the Pebble Beach Road Races in the fall of 1957, to the West Coast Professional Races in 1958, through these early years to the United States Road Racing Championship, to Can AM, Trans Am, Formula 5000, IMSA, Indy Cars, Moto GP and in concert with our naming rights partners, Mazda and WeatherTech, Laguna Seca Raceway and the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula see the positioning of this truly unique race track as one of the premier courses worldwide.  Always mindful of her neighbors, Laguna Seca and SCRAMP have provided over $62 Million toward the charitable needs of Monterey County during the first 60 years of operation.

RELEVANCE

From the original layout of the track, to the soft, dry grass pits and the porta-potties, the quality of competitors and race series forced the development of the facility from a volunteer run local race track to the world class professional FIA Grade 2 facility it is today.

In partnership with SCRAMP and the County of Monterey, the Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation was formed in 2002 to allow fans from all walks of life to participate in the raising of the funds needed for further development.

VISION

Beginning in 2017, change was afoot.

Grand plans are envisioned to improve the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca experience for our competitors, to our series organizers, from our naming and vendor partners, to our fans and most importantly, to the citizens of Monterey County.

Envision a new winner’s Circle

Many have longed to properly honor the winners of the wonderful events at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.  This raised stage would be the centerpiece of the paddock where the celebration of the victor joins the spectators, competitors and sponsors in cheering  the sweat, tears and talent needed to rise to the top step.

envision a village for all

With the paddock of WeatherTech Raceway LagunaSeca bordered on three sides by the track itself, it’s time to commission a racing village that reflects the wide variety of the world class events showcased here in Monterey; suites, shops, restaurants,  and viewing stations.  Encircling the Winner’s Circle gives easy movement for all who participate.

envision an ENTICEMENT for many

As WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca begins this season of redevelopment, our track defines sport for many in different ways.  At the Corkscrew, to view the descending elevator, bike racers in the dirt, knee-dragging motorcycle racers, road racers disappearing under the bridge, what better way to end one’s day, enmeshed in the society of competition.

MISSION

The mission of Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation is to solicit and provide funds to improve all aspects of the Laguna Seca Raceway for the enjoyment and benefit for all who visit this Monterey County Park, as well as contributing to the benefit of the citizens of Monterey County
